RESEARCH SUMMARY

My current research focuses on mechanical, physical, and mathematical systems with a high degree of symmetry. Many specific problems I study arise in the theory of random matrices. I am also interested in generalizations of the Toda lattice hierarchy, a classic example of an integrable ODE. Much of my work leads to combinatoric problems which describe the specific structures in the system. Other problems I study include higher order flows of integrable hierarchies such as the KDV, NLS, and Toda lattice hierarchies; orthogonal polynomials and their generalizations; and algebro-geometric interpretations of integrable hierarchies.
