Announcements

PCMI Summer Program:  July 6 - July 26.

The McAllen PD3 project will be sending participants to the 2008 Summer Session of the Park City Mathematics Institute in Park City, Utah.    These middle school and high school teachers will be participating in the Secondary Schools Teacher Program.

Teachers unable to sign up to travel to Park City may still participate in some of the PCMI activities through a video link between UTPA and PCMI.

CAMT:  July 9 - 11.

The McAllen PD3 project will be sponsoring the travel of selected teachers to attend the 2008 Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT) in Dallas, Texas.   These teachers will be participating in special sessions that actively explore and identify rich mathematics, and then return to design and lead a professional development workshop for McAllen teachers this fall.

Jump Up to High School Math for Entering High School Students.

The McAllen PD3 project will be conducting two summer programs this June for students entering any of the McAllen I.S.D. high schools.  This program will provide participating students two weeks of enrichment activities in measurement and geometry, as well as a chance to roam the halls of district high school.
