Prerequisites
MATH 1334, Intermediate Algebra with a grade of at least a C or appropriate placement scores:- ACT score greater than or equal to 20 or
- THEA greater than or equal to 260 or
- College Level Math Accuplacer score greater than or equal to 70
Content
Topics include nonlinear and absolute value inequalities, functions, complex numbers, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of linear and nonlinear equations.Course Policies
- Attendance: Attendance is mandatory and is taken daily; arriving 15 minutes late is considered an absence.
- Homework 20%
- Exams (3) 60%
- Final Exam 20%
Homework: Homework will be issued on a regular basis through the online homework system WeBWorK. You are allowed to work in groups to complete the homework, but the assignment must be written solely by you and entered into the computer solely by you. Any type of academic dishonesty will be handled by the instructor or by the appropriate administration. Late assignments requiring WebWork will be accepted with a 50% penalty and will be accepted only one day after the original due date.
Exams: Three exams will be administered plus a final exam, which will be comprehensive.
Make-Up Exams No make-up exams unless the absence is excused by a University-sanctioned event, the observance of a religious holiday or by an exceptional and unavoidable circumstance.
