The primary goal of the College Algebra Project is to increase the success and retention rates in College Algebra without compromising access to the course and course standards.  Classes meet four hours per week and feature group work, frequent evaluation, and closely supervised work with teachers and peer tutors.  The project began as an experimental program in the spring of 1998.  In the fall 1998 the project was supported through Title III funding. Support continued until the 2001-02 academic year when the project was institutionalized and funded from within the institution. Currently, the College Algebra Team consists of five faculty members and each one is teaching three sections of college algebra.
